Sport Racing Biography
Last season's Weatherbys Champion Bumper third warmed up for a possible tilt at the Cheltenham Festival in unusual fashion with a spin on the polytrack in the two mile contest.
Paul Townend was quick to get the grey across to the rails from his wide draw and settled the six year old in third, tracking the early pace.
Townend eased his mount to the outside and could afford the luxury of a look behind him as he searched for dangers.
    Profiles
    Pique Sous (FR)
They were non-existent as the Willie Mullins-trained winner outclassed the opposition in scoring by four and a half lengths.
The Supreme Horse Racing Club-owned gelding is entered in the William Hill Supreme Novices' Hurdle and the Neptune Investment Management Novices' Hurdle in March.
Pique Sous is a 20/1 shot for glory in the Supreme Novices' with Sky Bet and a 25/1 shot for the Neptune; he has won one of his two starts to date over hurdles when easily landing a maiden at Thurles in October.
